Portugal was ranked 23rd in the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index of 2018, setting a new national record for this global indicator, which aggregates assessments of 160 countries, composed of six topics.
Portugal thus climbs to the 23rd place, climbing thirteen places against the previous positioning and thus materializing the best classification ever, with an overall score of 3.64 points. At the top of the Logistics Performance Index ranking was Germany, with a total score of 4.20 points. Portugal stands out in the evaluation of International Shipments, being in sixth place among the 160 countries analyzed, gathering a score of 3.83 points. This indicator assesses the accessibility of hiring international transport at attractive prices.
The rest of the Portuguese service is described in this way: in the topic related to infrastructure quality, Portugal raised 3.25 points; in the topic 'Customs' (customs) Portugal obtained 3.17 points, while in the 'Logistics competence' section it was 3.71 points, a value similar to that attributed to the 'Track & Tracing' calculation, of 3.72 . Finally, the item 'Timeliness' (punctuality) totaled 4.13 points.
