Many of the vehicles that already circulate on our roads are connected. Still they are not the majority, of course, but the tendency is for the pace of penetration of technologically dialogic vehicles to accelerate. Significantly. By 2020, about a quarter of all cars will be online, some estimates point out. Connected cars: what does this buzzword mean? Using information and communication technology, a connected vehicle can talk to the driver, other cars, the roads and other road users. This saves time and money by avoiding, for example, traffic jams and road hazards.

A connected automobile is much more than a simple car. It is yet another integrated object of the Internet of Things through which its occupants connect to the world through the cloud and in close association with smartphones. Connected vehicles are synonymous with cleaner and safer road transport. Indeed connectivity technology is changing the limits of what it means to use (and be transported) in a vehicle and in this film of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) the journey we propose to you is around this new world.
