Environmental study gives green light to Montijo airport.
Portugal
The Ana - Airports of Portugal this week delivered to the Government the Environmental Impact Study related to the future airport of Montijo, which does not indicate impediments to the project. According to Jornal de Negócios, the study, prepared by the company Profico Ambiente, will now be evaluated by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA). The APA is expected to take about six months to review the study, which means that Montijo's construction works are due to start in the middle of next year. The conclusion is expected for the year 2022.

"We were very happy because the study of environmental impact does not create any impediment and makes feasible the construction of our project," said Thierry Ligonnière, ANA administrator, adding that "the impacts that were analyzed by Profico, for the most part, are insignificant "And do not call into question the location in Montijo of the new complementary Lisbon airport. According to the Jornal de Negócios, the report will be in public consultation for 40 days. And the national airport manager, owned by the French da Vinci, has already begun negotiations with the Government to define the project financing model.
