French government plans to tax trucks.

According to the information received this afternoon, the French Government intends to apply a new rate to heavy goods vehicles on its territory, so that they contribute to the financing of infrastructure.
This "supposed" new rate will be discussed in the French Senate in the coming weeks. However, the start of implementation should not occur before 2020.
At this stage both the methods of payment and the amount of the fee have yet to be defined. This measure will be an alternative to the so-called "ecotax", which was also designed to "charge" foreign heavy goods vehicles using French infrastructure, particularly those not subject to toll payments.
