On 6 August, a delegation from the Iberian Association of Natural Gas for Mobility (GASNAM), led by Victor Cardial, delegate of the association in Portugal, and by Nuno Moreira, president of the Douro Group (as a member of the Board of Directors of GASNAM) was received in audience by the Assistant Secretary of State and Environment, José Mendes, at the Ministry of Environment.
Among the topics of the talks were "various points of interest for the Association and for the natural gas sector, in particular matters relating to incentives to promote air quality in an urban context and to reduce pollutant emissions", the GASNAM.
The Iberian association expressed its ambitions in the calculation of the (increasingly significant) use of natural gas for the mobility of the present and the future, highlighting "its strategic agenda, as regards the need to create an incentive scheme that rewards best performing environmental carriers and using natural gas as alternative fuel in their operations'.
It reminds GASNAM that the topic of urban mobility with regard to light passenger vehicles was also discussed during the meeting: the points were related to the use of compressed natural gas by taxi fleets and by companies to decarbonise their transport '.
In an intervention on social networks, Victor Cardial revealed that "the development strategies of Natural Gas for land and sea mobility have been addressed", leaving a word of praise for the "comprehensive vision of the Government on the energy sector for transport and of the attention that Natural Gas and Biogas deserve.
