Interface Program: Companies will reach 25 million in the coming months
Portugal
In the coming months will reach the companies 25 million euros under the program that wants to accelerate the transfer of technology to companies.

A year and a half after the launch of the Interface program, which aims to accelerate the transfer of technology from universities to national companies, three new notices have been launched to support companies for a total of 25 million euros. This process is open until the end of the year and the money can begin to arrive before the end of the year. One of the warnings is for "Demonstrators-Seal Excellence" projects, which has an endowment of 13.25 million euros.

Economy Minister Manuel Caldeira Cabral explains that this instrument is intended for companies that want to take on a process of innovation, or apply something developed by a technology transfer center, to develop a project of innovation or to improve their activity and realize so if this technology works. Companies that have had a positive assessment of the SME Instrument Community instrument can apply.

"What we are doing is basically a recap of projects of Portuguese companies that have had this seal of excellence - evaluated at European level - and considered good even if they have not obtained funding. We accept that the European process is well done and what we are going to do is to finance these projects with non-refundable support of up to one million euros and with maximum incentive rates varying according to the characteristics of the company. " Another warning is for "Worth Research and Development Opportunity", which has a budget of 4.35 million euros. "The valleys are generally of small amounts. They are vouchers to finance the identification of responses to technical problems. " The goal is to allow firms to consult or ask for reviews on their product or production process, "to have clues on how they can improve and then apply for support" of another genre. Lastly, the notice for "European Research and Development", which has a budget of € 7.5 million, will be used to finance participation in European projects by Portuguese companies or institutions.

The Interface program was launched in February last year and lasts for six years. In February, the Economy Minister said that investments of EUR 1 billion under this program should be approved by the end of 2018. Last year, it totaled 586 million euros.
