Leixões confirms itself as the largest terminal of Yilport
Portugal
Yilport Holding closed 2018 with 6.4 million TEU handled and 12th place among the largest container terminal operators in the world.

The volumes handled represent a year-on-year increase of 5%. The Drewry ranking means that the goal of entering the "top 10" in 2025 is getting closer, the Turkish holding company says.

The port of Leixões - where Yilport is investing € 43.4 million and where it "dreams" to invest much more - has been confirmed as the largest terminal in the company portfolio (excluding Freeport Malta, where it owns only 50% more than handled 3.1 million TEUs).

Yilport Leixões grew 6% and reached a record of more than 660 thousand TEU.
However, in the Iberian Peninsula the global container movement remained flat compared to 2017, says the holding company without specifying, certainly due to the problems experienced by the Lisbon and Setúbal concessions.

In Turkey, Yilport handled 554,000 TEUs in Gebze and 524,000 TEUs in Gemlik. In both cases the annual growth was 11%. In Norway and Sweden, the holding company reached 474 thousand TEU (plus 2%).
In Latin America there was a growth of 23%, up to 380 thousand TEU, especially the Puerto Bolivar terminal in Ecuador.
At the end of 2018, Yilport Holding had 21 container terminals. The group is preparing to enter new geographies, namely in the USA and Canada and in Italy.

The Turkish holding company also operates general cargo terminals and liquid bulk cargoes, operating in these 11.86 million tonnes, 445 thousand CEU of ro-ro cargo and 3.5 million cubic meters of liquid bulk.
The holding company is still far from exhausting the available capacity of 10 million TEU, 22 million tons of general cargo and solid bulk and one million roe ro cargo CEU.
