Through a missive, published today on the APDL website, Yilport revealed that it will have to "immediately implement some contingency measures in order to continue to ensure the normal operation of the Container Terminal and its fluidity", following the "Extraordinary flow of cargo" that has arrived at the Port of Leixões.
Accordingly, the entities (APDL and Yilport) report that, faced with the "extraordinary flow of road and rail cargo that has flowed into the Port of Leixões", the concessionaire "finds itself compelled" to establish specific measures "in order to ensure the normal operation of the Container Terminal ', not only of the rotation of ships going up the northern port but also' in the clearance of road and rail transport '. It then informs Yilport Leixões that "by 15:00 hours on each business day, the list of vessels to which the Terminal will receive the containers destined for Export. Accordingly, from 8:00 p.m. on 18 October, and in accordance with the forecast arrival of the vessels at Leixões, the reception of export containers is authorized for more than two dozen vessels.
The concessionaire also adds that, in the event of changes in the forecasts of the arrival or operation of the vessels, 'Yilport Leixões will alter the authorization to receive containers in accordance with those changes'. Likewise, it states that 'shipments of containers between export stops and consequent extra terminal movements are subject to the tariff in force'.
