Portugal
After 2016 entered for the first time in its history, in the top-100 of the world's ports with more containers moved, last year the Port of Sines climbed three places in the table and is now the 88th largest port in the world. The Alphaliner ranking places the Port of Sines in the best ranking ever in its history!

In 2017, the Port of Sines moved 1.67 million TEUs, which was also the best result in its history, a growth of 10.3% compared to the results of 2016 (1.51 million TEUs).

The Alphaliner ranking also shows that the Port of Sines maintained the 15th place in the European ranking of ports with more containerized cargo, position that already occupied in 2016.

The Port of Sines appears in this list behind Rotterdam (Holland), Antwerp (Belgium), Hamburg (Germany), Bremerhaven (Germany), Valencia (Spain), Algeciras (Spain), Piraeus (Greece), Felixstowe Marsaxlokk (Malta), Barcelona (Spain), Le Havre (France), Genoa (Italy), Gioia Tauro (Italy) and Southampton (United Kingdom).
