According to the AMT data for the January-April 2018 period, already analyzed by Cargo Magazine, the general trend of decreasing freight movement in the Portuguese ports of the Mainland had in the ports of Aveiro and Leixões 'bastions of resistance'.

 

With growth of 0.4% and 8.7%, the ports of Leixões and Aveiro "reached the respective best brands ever" in the first four months of the year refers to AMT. Leixões handled a total of 6.2 million tons (having a share of 20.9%) while Aveiro processed 1.8 million (accounting for 6% of the national total). Between January and April, the port with the highest share of the national market was Leixões, having grown, according to the AMT, "+2.1 percentage points to 20.9%". In the path of the northern port is the Port of Lisbon, which increased "+1.1 percentage points to 13%".
