WHAT TAKES SLEEP TO PROFESSIONALS IN THE TRANSPORT SECTOR?
Portugal
Grounded, a strategic brand and marketing consulting firm, developed, in partnership with Transportes em Revista, and with the support of the National Road Transport Association (ANTRAM), a strategy, called 'barometers', to evaluate the feeling sector professionals.

In this sense, a barometer was created that allowed to know about the subjects that most concern the operators related to the various activities of the transports, realizing, in this case, what the impact on the sleep quality of the participants.

From a universe of 15,000 participants, in which all work in the area of ??Road Freight Transport, 163 answers were obtained.

Among several scenarios, eight events considered relevant to the business area of ??this sector were chosen, which could have a negative impact on the business of companies, among them: increased taxes, fiscal uncertainty, rising fuel prices, increased costs of other raw materials, new more restrictive legislation, shortage of labor, economic developments and increased competition.

Depending on these factors, participants could choose five responses, such as "I totally lose sleep", "I sleep badly", "I sleep OK", "I sleep very well" and "I sleep like an angel".

From the results obtained, it can be concluded that the study participants do not have a restful sleep. All the above events afflict and withdraw sleep, some more than others, to the individuals who perform functions in the area of ??Road Freight Transportation.

Translating in numbers, of the total sample, 73% say they sleep poorly due to rising fuel prices. Fiscal uncertainty is the cause of concern of 71% and 67% of the sample because of a hypothetical tax increase. These figures are the highest because they are related, that is, the increase in fuel prices could happen if taxes also increase, which provides fiscal uncertainty.

In turn, more than half of the sample indicates that the increase in the price of other raw materials, the possibility of a new more restrictive legislation and lack of labor, are three other factors that influence the quality of sleep, which causes insomnia and poor nights.

Finally, there is a third set that encompasses themes that are not so conducive to taking sleep to the participants. 40% and 35% of the sample sleep poorly due to economic developments and increased competition, respectively.

In general, it can be concluded that the factor that most torments the sleep of professionals in this area is the increase in the price of fuel and the least worrying is the evolution of the economy as well as competition in the sector.
