Yilport grows 4.6% in first half!
Portugal
In the first half of the year, Yilport Holding handled 3.2 million TEUs worldwide. In Leixões there were 309,881.
In comparison with the first half of 2017, Yilport Holding achieved growth of 4.6%. The Leixões terminal, the largest in the 100% owned group, rose 1.1%. The progress achieved was mainly due to the good performances of Turkish and Latin American terminals. At home, Yilport grew 10.6% and reached 530 thousand TEU. In Peru, the Paita terminal (purchased with Tertir) handled 130 501 TEUs (plus 16%), and at Equardo, in Puerto Bolivar, 60 525 TEUs were counted (plus 30.1%).
In northern Europe, Sweden and Norway, Yilport handled 237 922 TEUs (1.7% more year-on-year). To prevent a better overall result, terminals in the Iberian Peninsula moved less than 2.9% and stood at 592 785 TEU. Leixões, as already mentioned, still grew 1.1% to very close to 310 thousand TEU.
The first half of the year was marking the Iberian Peninsula, due to the start of MacAndrews' regular operations at Ferrol's Galician terminal.
